I built MidFund in a single day. The secret? Vibe coding with v0 and leveraging the AI SDK.
The Concept
MidFund is a comprehensive directory of funding resources for Midwest startups and entrepreneurs. The region has incredible talent but often lacks visibility into available funding opportunities. I wanted to fix that.
The Stack
- v0 for rapid prototyping - Instead of wrestling with boilerplate, I described what I wanted and v0 generated clean, production-ready Next.js components
- AI SDK - Integrated smart search and content recommendations to help users find relevant funding opportunities
- Next.js 15 - Server components and app router made everything fast and SEO-friendly
The Process
The beauty of vibe coding with v0 is that you can focus on the product vision rather than implementation details. I spent the morning defining the user experience and data structure, then let v0 handle the component architecture and styling.
By afternoon, I had a working prototype. The AI SDK integration took maybe an hour to add intelligent search capabilities that would have taken days to build from scratch.
Lessons Learned
Building fast doesn't mean building poorly. With the right tools, you can ship quality products in hours instead of weeks. The key is knowing when to leverage AI assistance and when to add your own creative direction.
MidFund is live now, and I'm already getting feedback from founders across the Midwest. That's the power of shipping quickly.
